Allow ourselves to live on the spectrum between humility and beauty. ~Aditi Holden
The Holy, of course, cannot be kept alive by facts but only by beauty. ~Martin Prechtel
Find a way to make beauty necessary; find a way to make necessity beautiful. ~Anne Michaels
We need beauty because it makes us ache to be worthy of it. ~ Mary Oliver
Sometimes I think of life as a pendulum swinging between heartbreak and beauty. I experience any travel as pilgrimage and during a trip in 2016 I was thinking about what this pilgrimage would be about, and "beauty" landed. I started this hashtag as a result and, over time, it's become part of my journey through my own life. For years some sort of pilgrimage has been a way for me to be in my life. I've come to understand and experience that it's even something that can happen in 10 minute walks around the block if I put my pilgrimage hat on. This hastag has helped me do just that.
“I have not a clue whether we humans will live for another 100 or 10,000 years. We can’t be sure.
What matters to me is the fact we have fallen out of a very ancient love affair – a kind of dream tangle, with the earth itself.
If, through our own mess, that relationship is about to end, then
we need to scatter as much beauty around us as we possibly can,
to send a voice, to attempt some kind of repair. I think of it as a kind of courting – a very old idea.
This isn’t about statistical hysteria, it’s about personal style. Any other response is just not cool” ~ Martin Shaw

A HUNDRED OBJECTS CLOSE BY
I know a cure for sadness
Let your hands touch something that
makes your eye
smile.
I be there are a hundred objects close by
that can do that.
Look at
beauty's gift to us --
her power is sto great she enlivens
the earth, the sky, our
soul.
